Hammerspace CEO David Flynn Joins the Big Data Debrief
Hammerspace CEO David Flynn recently joined the Big Data Debrief, where he discusses the limits of distributed file systems, the changes made to NFS, and the future of data virtualization.
The AI boom is driving data storage needs into the stratosphere, but existing file systems are ill-prepared to cope with the data deluge. That has jumpstarted a market for a new generation of distributed file systems, such as the NFS-based file system developed by Hammerspace.
Before co-founding Hammerspace in 2018, Flynn was the founder and CEO of Fusion-io, which was sold to SANdisk in 2014 for $1.1 billion. A recognized expert in data storage, Flynn has worked to develop a high performance, distributed file system that can meet the needs of today’s enterprise, which demands centralized control of globally distributed data estates.
