Hospitals Take to Mining for Lives
For hospitals that use sensors to monitor heart rate, blood pressure, temperature, and other vitals, data mining could prove valuable. A new technique outlined in the paper, “Searching and mining trillions of time series subsequences under dynamic time warping,” by Thanawin Rakthanmanon et al, may make it possible to search a dataset with a trillion or more entries.
